Real Madrid vs. Barcelona "El Clasico", Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 18:15 Live From the Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid

Lionel Messi's knee will keep him out of EL Clasico

The Barcelona star is very unlikely to be available to face Rafael Benitez's side in the November 21 clash, with the forward still recovering from a knee injury.

Unfortunately, things have slowed up and the player still doesn’t have sufficient strength in his knee to begin running continuously,” revealed Miguel on Monday. “That’s to say, he doesn’t have enough time to be back in shape for the Madrid match.”

Neymar and Luis Suarez have been in sensational form in Messi's absence, with the duo both on the scoresheet in Saturday's 2-0 win over Getafe that ensured Luis Enrique side's kept pace with Madrid at the top of the table.

Thankfully for Barcelona, they have two of the world’s best forwards in sensational form, and that will serve them well going to the Bernabeu.

Messi, meanwhile, shouldn’t be too downhearted at missing the Clasico. The 28-year-old must ensure he’s in the best possible shape on returning, ready to help Barca to a strong finish to the 2015-16 term.
